  1. An intellectual of European fame if you please. ‘Smart-alec’ sounds so very envious and a classic British anti – intellectual pejoration. Where would we be without scholars such as Browne coining words such such as ‘electricity’ ‘hallucination’ ‘medical’ plus hundreds more into the English language,.

    1. Hi Kevin – I’m actually a fan (if that’s the right word) of Mr. Browne – he’s supposed to have coined the word “tollutation”, which I’ve used in the by-line of the blog. Oddly enough, I was just reading about you in Hugh Aldersly-Williams’ book this morning.
